Ada satu phase creator Malaysia selalu kena: brand DM, ayat manis, produk free, pastu expectation macam campaign full production.

"Hi dear, we love your content! Can you post one TikTok, one IG story, tag us, include talking points, send draft for approval, and maybe usage rights also?"

Babe.

Itu bukan collab kecil. Itu kerja berkaki.

Tapi ramai girls still rasa malu nak reply, "What's your budget?" Macam tanya duit tu suddenly buat kita nampak tak humble.

Padahal kau bukan minta sedekah. Kau tanya payment untuk kerja yang brand memang nak guna.

Exposure tu bukan payment method

Gifted collab boleh rasa exciting. Parcel sampai, unboxing cute, rasa macam finally brand notice kita.

Tak salah pun ambil kalau kau memang suka produk and expectation dia chill.

Masalahnya bila "gifted" datang dengan homework list panjang macam coursework.

Post kena ikut script. Deadline esok. Caption kena approval. Hashtag kena masuk. Lepas tu brand nak boost video kau as ad.

Sis, itu bukan gift. Itu campaign pakai harga hamper.

Exposure pun kadang kelakar. Exposure to whom? Audience kau sendiri? Followers kau yang kau build satu-satu dengan muka, voice, editing, and consistency?

Exposure tak bayar ring light. Exposure tak top up data. Exposure tak cover Grab kalau kau pergi event.

Apa brand sebenarnya beli?

Brand bukan cuma beli 30 saat video.

Dia beli access to your audience. Dia beli trust yang kau dah bina. Dia beli taste kau. Dia beli cara kau explain benda sampai orang rasa, "Okay, maybe I should try."

Dia beli masa brainstorm, shooting, reshoot sebab lighting buruk, edit sampai 2AM, reply comment, and the risk of putting your face next to a product.

Even kalau follower tak sampai 100K, jangan shrink yourself. Micro creator pun boleh convert gila kalau audience dia trust dia.

Numbers matter, yes. Tapi fit, niche, trust, and content quality pun matter.

Malu nak charge sebab girls selalu diajar jadi grateful

This is the spicy part.

Ramai girls rasa kena grateful bila dapat opportunity. Jangan demand. Jangan susahkan orang. Jangan nampak money-minded. Nanti brand tak suka.

Tapi funny kan. Bila brand ask for deliverables, itu business. Bila creator ask for rate, tiba-tiba jadi attitude problem.

No babe. Kita boleh professional tanpa jadi free labour machine.

Reply simple je:

"Thank you for reaching out! For paid collaborations, my rate starts from RM__ depending on scope. Can you share the deliverables and usage needed?"

Tak payah essay. Tak payah minta maaf lapan kali. Tak payah letak "sorry ya kalau mahal" macam kau jual nasi lemak dekat committee judgement.

Kalau budget dia tak match, negotiate scope. Kurangkan deliverables, limit usage, or politely pass.

Boundary is not rude. Boundary is admin.

Rate card tak semestinya fancy gila

Rate card boleh simple. Name, handle, audience snapshot, content formats, starting rates, add-ons, usage terms, contact.

Tak perlu 17-page media kit macam global ambassador luxury brand. As long as jelas, kemas, and easy untuk brand faham.

Letak juga apa yang bukan included. Extra edits? Paid. Usage for ads? Paid. Rush deadline? Paid.

Kalau tak tulis, semua benda jadi "can you also just..." sampai collab kecil berubah jadi unpaid internship with prettier packaging.

Charge bukan sebab kau lupa diri

Kau charge sebab kau ingat diri.

Ingat masa kau spend. Ingat audience kau trust. Ingat creative energy kau bukan unlimited.

Kalau kau nak buat free sebab suka brand, go ahead. Itu pilihan. Tapi biar pilihan, bukan guilt.

Creator work nampak fun sebab output dia cute. Tapi cute still work.

Rate card bukan announcement yang kau diva.

Itu cuma cara calm untuk cakap: kalau nak masuk ruang yang I built, respect the labour.
