Setiap kali creator hantar rate card, mesti ada brand yang terus macam, “Wah mahalnya.”
Bestie. Mahal compared to what? Free sample? Voucher RM50? “Exposure” yang audience pun tak nampak sebab post kena buried bawah algorithm?
Rate card bukan creator tiba-tiba jadi diva pakai sunglasses dalam meeting. Rate card ialah cara paling basic untuk cakap: kerja ni ada value, ada masa, ada skill, ada audience, and ada cost.
Content nampak macam “just buat video 30 saat” sebab creator pandai buat benda susah nampak effortless.
Kalau video tu require concept, scripting, filming, makeup, outfit, editing, caption, posting, reporting, and jawab DM — itu bukan satu post. Itu mini production pakai bedroom lighting.
Exposure tak bayar Grab, sayang
Kita faham. Not every brand ada budget besar. Small business pun struggle. Tapi kalau budget kecil, scope kena kecil juga.
Problem start bila brand nak full campaign dengan energy “boleh tak support women-owned business?”
Support is cute. Tapi creator pun woman-owned business juga.

And paling kelakar, kadang-kadang brand yang cakap “tak ada budget” boleh pula request three concepts, two revisions, raw footage, whitelist ads, and content usage for six months.
Girl, itu bukan collab. Itu kerja agency pakai harga nasi lemak.
Rate card patut ada spine, bukan malu-malu
Creator girls selalu rasa guilty nak letak harga. Takut nampak demanding. Takut brand lari. Takut orang cakap “baru followers sikit dah charge.”
Tapi kalau kau sendiri tak treat kerja kau macam kerja, orang lain pun senang treat dia macam favour.
Rate card tak perlu fancy macam pitch deck startup. Cukup clear:
- satu video berapa
- story add-on berapa
- usage rights berapa lama
- revision included berapa
- raw footage included ke tak
- timeline and payment terms macam mana
Benda ni nampak dry, but trust me, it saves friendship-energy collab from jadi sakit hati.
Sebab bila everything vague, semua orang buat assumption. Brand assume extra revision free. Creator assume product dah approved. Suddenly WhatsApp jadi courtroom.
Tapi creator pun jangan main tembak harga fantasy
Okay, fairness check.
Rate card bukan lesen untuk letak angka random sebab nampak creator lain charge mahal dekat Twitter.
Harga kena reflect quality, niche, engagement, production effort, deliverables, and how much value brand boleh guna balik. Kalau video masih shaky, audio macam dalam kipas, and caption generic “love this so much”, maybe polish dulu sebelum charge macam billboard Bukit Bintang.
Know your worth, yes. But also know your work.
Brand pun boleh respect creator without blindly saying yes to every quote. Negotiate scope, bukan tekan ego.
Kalau budget tak match, reduce deliverables. One organic Reel, no usage rights, one round revision. Simple. Jangan nak squeeze full buffet bila bayar harga air suam.
Paid collab yang sihat rasa macam partnership
The best collab bukan brand tunduk dekat creator atau creator takut dekat brand.
It feels like both sides faham game.
Brand datang dengan brief clear. Creator datang dengan rate clear. Semua orang tahu apa included, apa extra, and apa yang memang tak boleh sebab nanti content jadi iklan bank pukul 8 malam.
Malaysian creator scene dah matured. Girls dah tak cuma happy dapat PR box pink. Audience trust tu asset. Kalau salah promote, creator pun kena side-eye.
So yes, rate card matters.
Bukan sebab creator perasan celebrity.
Sebab “tolong post boleh?” era needs to retire.
Cute collab is paid, clear, and respectful.
Exposure boleh duduk tepi dulu. Dia dah terlalu lama main main character.
