Brand DM masuk, terus tangan sejuk
Kalau kau creator kecil, you know this horror scene.
Brand DM: “Hi babe, we love your content! Can you share your rate?”
Terus kau stare phone macam baru dapat soalan add math.
Nak quote RM berapa? Takut mahal sangat nanti dia ghost. Takut murah sangat nanti kau kena shoot, edit, post, reply comment, bagi usage, bagi extra revision, and still kena “can you send raw files too?” Macam tiba-tiba kau bukan creator. Kau jadi whole production house with lip tint.
Bestie, this is exactly why rate card exists.
Rate card bukan untuk nampak sombong. Bukan sebab kau perasan celebrity. Bukan sebab followers 3K dah rasa macam Kylie. Rate card is boundary sheet.
Professional bukan tunggu sampai famous. Professional starts bila kau stop letting people guess your value for you.
Rate card bukan harga je
Ramai orang ingat rate card cuma satu PDF cantik letak “IG Reel: RMxxx”.
Story frame berapa? Need scriptwriting? Need product shoot? Need voiceover? Need raw footage? Need whitelisting? Need exclusivity? Need post stay up berapa lama?
Sebab semua benda tu bukan benda sama.
Satu video kau post dekat page sendiri is one thing. Brand ambik video tu, run ads tiga bulan, target seluruh Malaysia, then letak dekat website? Itu usage rights, sayang. Itu bukan “boleh tak we repost hehe”. Hehe tak bayar editing app subscription.
Revision pun kena jelas. Satu round? Dua round? Kalau brand tukar brief lepas kau shoot, itu bukan revision. Itu new project wearing old baju.
Payment terms pun tulis. 50% deposit? Full payment before posting? Net 14? Net 30? Exposure tak boleh top up Touch ’n Go.
Creator kecil pun ada kos
Kecil tak bermaksud murah sampai invisible.
Kau ada time. Kau ada phone storage crying for help. Kau beli props. Kau pakai makeup sendiri. Kau ulang take sebab lighting rumah pukul 3PM jadi macam interrogation room. Kau edit caption, pilih audio, check spelling, reply comments, and kalau content flop, mental kau pula kena marinate.
So bila brand offer “product only” untuk kerja yang ada brief, deadline, deliverables, and approval process, jangan terus rasa bersalah nak say no.
Product seeding is fine kalau memang no obligation. Brand hantar, kau try, kalau suka kau share. Chill.
Tapi kalau dah ada “please include these key messages”, “submit draft by Friday”, “don’t mention competitors”, “post during peak hour”, itu bukan gift. Itu kerja pakai ribbon.
Kerja patut ada bayaran.
Tak payah overcomplicate, just jangan kabur
Rate card kau tak perlu macam deck agensi 48 pages. Simple pun boleh.
Letak package basic: one TikTok video, one IG Reel, three story frames, UGC video without posting. Letak starting rate, bukan harga mati kalau kau masih testing market. Letak add-ons: extra revision, raw footage, paid ads usage, rush fee, exclusivity, travel, extra hooks.
And please tulis “final quote depends on scope”. Itu ayat penyelamat. Sebab brand brief kadang-kadang mula dengan “simple video je” then sambung requirement macam assignment group leader overachiever.
Kalau takut quote, bagi range dengan confidence. “For this scope, my rate starts from RM___, including one concept, filming, editing, caption, and one revision. Paid usage is quoted separately.”
See? Tak garang pun. Just clear.
Kalau brand serious, dia akan appreciate. Kalau brand terus hilang sebab kau ada structure, maybe dia memang cari orang yang senang kena squeeze.
Brands pun kena matang sikit
Kadang-kadang micro creator lagi kuat sebab audience dia percaya. Comment section dia hidup. Content dia rasa personal. Bila dia recommend, group chat dengar.
So jangan treat them macam cheap media slot. Be clear dengan budget. Be honest dengan usage. Jangan minta unlimited revisions for RM150 and a cleanser. Jangan brief creator sampai caption bunyi macam brochure clinic.
Kalau brand nak creator yang ada taste, trust, and audience, pay for the thinking too. Bukan camera angle je.
SisPilih verdict
Rate card creator kecil bukan berlagak. Dia self-respect in PDF form.
Buat rate card. Update bila kau belajar. Track apa yang brands minta. Letak boundaries before orang test boundaries kau.
Because once kau boleh quote without shaking, creator kerja tu rasa lain. Less panic, more grown-girl energy.
And honestly? Kita love girls getting paid properly.
