
Pukul 11PM, phone tu bukan phone. Itu portal masalah.
Kau dah mandi. Skincare done. Baju tidur dah tukar. Lampu dah dim. Semua syarat untuk jadi functional human esok pagi actually dah complete.
Then kau baring, ambil phone, and cakap ayat paling dangerous dalam dunia moden:
“Scroll kejap je.”
Bestie.
Kejap tu tipu.
Satu TikTok pasal girl reorganise makeup drawer. Satu video pasal orang explain red flag lelaki Capricorn. Satu lagi GRWM yang tak ada kena-mengena dengan hidup kau tapi somehow kau watch sampai habis. Tahu-tahu pukul 12:37AM and kau masih dalam posisi sama, cuma leher dah macam udang.

Tapi I get it. Kau cuma nak rasa hari tu milik kau.
Revenge bedtime scrolling ni bukan sebab kita semua bodoh tidur lambat for fun.
Kadang whole day rasa macam bukan kau punya.
Pagi rush. Tengah hari kerja or class. Petang traffic. Malam dinner, chores, family WhatsApp, laundry, maybe assignment, maybe boss still hantar message macam dia tak tahu manusia ada circadian rhythm.
So bila 11PM finally sunyi, phone tu rasa macam freedom.
No one asking anything. No one needs you. Kau boleh tengok apa kau nak, laugh sendiri, stalk sikit, save recipe yang takkan dimasak, add lipstick to cart, and pretend time berhenti.
Honestly? That little pocket of me-time memang valid.
Masalah dia bila me-time jadi sleep sabotage.
Kau bukan resting. Kau sedang feed otak dengan 47 jenis stimulation sampai mata penat tapi brain macam buka mamak 24 jam.
Scroll boleh jadi self-care. Tapi algorithm tak sayang kau.
TikTok tak care esok kau ada meeting pukul 9AM.
Instagram tak care eyebag kau dah entering architecture era.
Shopee tak care kau baru cakap nak jimat.
Algorithm punya job simple: keep you there.
And dia pandai gila. Dia tahu kalau bagi satu video sedih, then satu video makeup, then satu video drama creator, then satu video “signs he secretly likes you,” kau akan stay sebab setiap clip rasa macam maybe next one lagi best.
It’s casino, babe. Cuma aesthetic.
That’s why scrolling before sleep can feel relaxing at first, then suddenly kau rasa kosong sikit. Sebab kau didn’t choose rest. Kau got dragged.
There’s a difference.
Nak me-time? Make it less hostage situation.
I’m not going to say “just don’t use your phone” because hello, kita bukan tinggal dalam gua wellness retreat.
But maybe make rules yang realistic.
Charge phone jauh sikit kalau kau jenis tak boleh stop. Set timer, not because kau strict sangat, but because tired brain cannot be trusted. Pick one lane: tengok two videos, reply group chat, or read one thread. Jangan buka everything sampai semua app ambil turn makan nyawa kau.
And if kau memang nak soft night, choose something yang actually turun kan nervous system. Playlist slow. Stretch badan. Baca few pages. Journal satu line pun jadi. Letak lip balm. Drink water. Boring? Maybe. But boring is how sleep enters.
Kita terlalu biasa hidup overstimulated sampai peace pun rasa macam tak cukup entertaining.

11PM scrolling is not automatically bad.
Kadang it is the only time kau boleh laugh, decompress, and feel like hari tu ada part yang belongs to you.
But kalau setiap malam “kejap je” turns into muka kusam, mood koyak, and pagi kau cursing alarm like it personally betrayed you, then babe, pattern tu dah loud.
Claim your me-time, yes.
But don’t let algorithm collect your sleep as payment.
Put the phone down before it becomes tomorrow’s problem.
Your FYP will survive without you.
Your face tomorrow pagi? Maybe not.
