2PM is dangerous.

Lunch dah turun. Inbox naik balik. Mata mula berat. Lecture hall rasa macam lullaby premium. Office aircond pula buat badan confuse — sejuk, tapi otak still macam nasi lemak wrapped in plastic, warm and slow.

Then kau tengok cup iced coffee atas meja.

Condensation menitik. Ice bunyi sikit bila kau angkat. First sip tu memang rasa macam hidup kau reboot.

Babe, kita semua tahu feeling tu. Iced coffee pukul 2PM bukan sekadar minuman. Dia emotional support beverage. Dia prop untuk convince diri sendiri, “Okay, I am a functioning girl with tasks and goals.”

Kadang betul. Kadang tipu diri sendiri with caramel syrup.

Bila coffee memang membantu

Iced coffee can be useful, no drama.

Kalau kau ada meeting, class, assignment, edit video, or spreadsheet yang nampak macam punishment, caffeine memang boleh bagi push. Especially lepas lunch bila badan start masuk mode “boleh tak kita baring sekejap dekat surau / car / bawah meja.”

Ritual pun penting. Jalan keluar beli coffee, ambil fresh air, queue kejap, scroll phone, balik meja dengan cup sejuk — that reset can help. Kadang bukan caffeine je yang buat kau focus. It’s the pause.

And honestly, iced coffee has main character value. Outfit simple pun nampak more intentional bila ada cup in hand. Tote, cardigan, laptop, coffee — terus nampak macam girl who has a Notion template and emotional damage arranged by colour.

Tapi bila dia jadi personality crutch

Masalah dia bila setiap slump kau jawab dengan coffee.

Tired? Coffee. Bosan? Coffee. Stress? Coffee. Tak tahu nak reply message? Coffee. Baru lepas coffee? Maybe another coffee because this one “tak cukup kick.”

Girl.

At some point, kau bukan minum coffee untuk productivity. Kau minum sebab kau tak tahu nak sit with the fact that kau penat, overstimulated, dehydrated, and maybe actually perlukan rest.

2PM coffee can hide a lot. Dia hide sleep debt. Dia hide lunch yang tak cukup. Dia hide burnout yang kau panggil “busy season” since February. Dia hide the fact that kau dah stare dekat Google Doc 40 minit tapi cuma tukar font size.

Coffee tak salah. But coffee cannot be your whole coping strategy.

Kalau setiap hari kau perlu iced latte untuk rasa macam diri kau wujud, maybe badan kau bukan malas. Maybe dia tengah hantar resignation letter dalam bentuk headache.

First: check timing. Kalau coffee 2PM buat kau tidur pukul 2AM, then tomorrow 2PM kau perlukan coffee lagi, babe itu bukan routine. Itu subscription kepada cycle jahat.

Second: check sugar. Iced coffee dessert memang sedap, but kalau kau treat it like water, jangan terkejut energy naik macam roller coaster then crash macam drama group assignment.

Third: check reason. Are you buying because you want it, or because opening GrabFood feels easier than opening your feelings? Be honest. Kita semua pernah.

Fourth: romanticise water sikit. I know, boring. Tapi kadang “I need coffee” sebenarnya “I have not drank anything except vibes since morning.”

2PM iced coffee is not the enemy.

Dia cute. Dia useful. Dia boleh jadi little treat yang buat hari kerja or campus grind less depressing. Kalau satu cup coffee boleh buat kau rasa hidup ni ada plot, go ahead bestie.

But don’t let a plastic cup become your whole personality support system.

Use coffee as fuel.

Not as proof that kau okay when clearly kau need nap, water, proper food, and maybe one honest “I’m tired lah” instead of another caramel latte with extra shot.
