
Pukul 12AM, makeup dah tinggal dua peratus.
Kau baru balik.
Maybe dinner. Maybe date. Maybe event kecil yang konon “just drop by sekejap” tapi end up tiga jam berdiri, senyum, and peluh bawah concealer.
Mascara dah jadi soft panda. Lip tint dah migrate ke straw. Sunscreen, setting spray, KL humidity, minyak T-zone — semua duduk atas muka macam meeting tak habis-habis.
Then kau masuk bathroom.
Ada cleansing balm.
Ada cleanser.
Ada kau, berdiri depan sink, tanya soalan paling berat malam tu:
“Kalau aku tidur je, berdosa tak?”
Bestie. Kita faham.
Double cleanse sounds cute bila orang buat dekat TikTok dengan candle, headband fluffy, robe putih, and sink yang tak pernah ada rambut gugur.
Real life? Bathroom lamp terang macam interrogation room and kau cuma nak rebah.
Double cleanse tu bukan scam, tapi jangan jadikan dia religion.
Kalau kau pakai sunscreen, makeup, heavy powder, mascara, or keluar satu hari dekat panas Malaysia, double cleanse memang makes sense.
First cleanse angkat benda oily: sunscreen, makeup, sebum, city dust, sisa “I looked cute today.”
Second cleanse baru betul-betul cuci kulit.
Simple.
Bukan ritual goddess under moonlight. Bukan 12 langkah menuju glass skin. Bukan personality test.
It is literally: buang hari ni dari muka kau.
And honestly, muka kita dekat Malaysia kerja overtime. Panas, humid, aircond, mask, helmet Grab, LRT crowd, mamak smoke, carpark basement — skin kau dah go through more plot than talking stage kau.
So yes, cleanse properly.
But no, you are not skincare criminal kalau one night kau collapse.
Problem dia bila bedtime skincare jadi moral exam.
Internet suka buat macam kalau kau tak double cleanse, kau tak sayang diri.
Girl, kadang kau sayang diri dengan tidur.
Kadang kau balik pukul 12AM, kaki sakit, bra rasa macam contract, and brain tinggal satu bar battery.
Kalau kau skip toner, serum, essence, gua sha, mask, lip oil — tak apa.
Tapi kalau kau tidur full makeup every other night and wonder why bumps muncul dekat jawline, pillowcase bau pelik, mascara flake masuk mata… itu bukan “skin tengah purge.”
Itu pillowcase dah jadi crime scene.
Self-care bukan kena buat semua benda.
Self-care is knowing benda mana bare minimum yang actually protect future-you.
For makeup days, bare minimum tu usually: remove properly, cleanse gently, moisturise sikit, tidur.
Done. No need skincare TED Talk dekat sink.
Lazy girl method, sebab kita bukan robot.
Keep benda dekat tempat senang capai.
Cleansing balm or micellar water. Gentle cleanser. Small towel. Moisturiser.
No treasure hunt at midnight.
If makeup heavy, balm dulu. Massage cukup-cukup, jangan scrub macam tengah erase scandal. Rinse.
Then cleanser biasa. Fokus hairline, jawline, tepi hidung — tempat makeup suka sorok macam ex dekat Close Friends.
If energy memang tinggal nyawa-nyawa ikan, micellar water first pass pun better than nothing. Then cleanser. Moisturise. Sleep.
Don’t stand there debating skincare philosophy sampai 20 minit.
Two minutes. Settle.
Double cleanse should feel like closing tab, not punishment.
The point bukan nak jadi perfect clean girl.
The point is kau tak bawa satu hari punya minyak, makeup, stress, dust, and delulu masuk atas pillow.
Some nights, routine kau aesthetic.
Some nights, routine kau survival.
Both valid.
But if kau boleh spend 18 minutes scroll FYP dalam toilet, kau boleh spend two minutes cuci muka.
Sayang muka sikit, bestie.
Bukan sebab skin must be flawless.
