PR package unboxing: hadiah ke kerja kena post?

PR package nampak macam free gift, tapi kadang-kadang dia datang sekali dengan silent expectation. Bestie, free barang bukan semestinya free kerja.

PR package tu memang nampak fun. Jangan tipu.

Courier sampai. Box cantik. Tissue paper warna pastel. Ada ribbon macam kau baru masuk era influencer full-time walaupun sebenarnya kau tengah pakai seluar tidur and baru lepas scroll TikTok 40 minit.

Kita faham thrill dia.

Free lip gloss? Best. Skincare baru? Cute. Perfume mini? Wah, terus rasa macam hidup ada sponsor walaupun bank account tengah buat bunyi sedih.

Tapi bestie, PR package ni ada satu benda orang jarang cakap: kadang-kadang dia bukan hadiah. Dia kerja yang dibalut cantik.

Free barang bukan free labour

Ada brand hantar product and genuinely nak introduce. Tak ada pressure. Kalau creator suka, post. Kalau tak, diam. Respect.

Tapi ada juga yang hantar macam “surprise!” then tiba-tiba follow up:

“Hi dear, boleh post today?”

“Can tag us?”

“Maybe make one Reel?”

“Just simple unboxing je.”

Girl. Simple untuk siapa?

Nak shoot pun kena setup light. Kena bersihkan meja. Kena fikir angle. Kena edit. Kena caption yang tak nampak macam robot brand. Kena reply comment. Kena risk audience cakap “semua benda pun promote sekarang.”

Itu bukan simple. Itu kerja content.

Barang RM39 tak automatik bayar masa, taste, audience trust, and storage space dekat bilik kau yang dah macam mini warehouse Shopee.

Yang paling bahaya: rasa bersalah

Ramai girls rasa guilty bila tak post PR package.

Sebab barang dah sampai. Sebab brand nampak nice. Sebab takut nanti tak dapat package lagi. Sebab dalam kepala ada suara, “Ala, buat je lah satu story.”

But this is how creator burnout start. Bukan sebab satu box. Sebab 12 box kecil yang semua expect kau grateful on camera.

Grateful is one thing. Obligated is another.

Kalau brand nak guaranteed deliverables, say it upfront. Ada brief, ada timeline, ada fee. Jangan disguise kerja sebagai hadiah then act shocked bila creator tak jadi unpaid media team.

Tapi creator pun kena jaga trust

This part also penting.

Kalau kau post semua benda sebab free, audience boleh smell. Malaysian girls ni bukan blur. Diorang tahu beza genuine suka dengan “best gila wajib try” yang keluar tiga kali seminggu untuk product berbeza.

Trust tu mahal. Once audience rasa kau mudah dibeli dengan box cantik, susah nak repair.

So maybe bukan semua PR package perlu masuk story. Maybe some kena test dulu. Maybe some kena pass sebab tak match vibe. Maybe some kena cakap honest: “I received this, trying it first.”

Simple. Clean. Tak payah overjual macam life changed lepas guna toner dua hari.

PR yang healthy ada boundaries

The best PR relationship is not brand throwing barang and hoping creator panic-post.

It’s clarity.

“Gifted, no obligation.” Lovely.

“Paid campaign, these are deliverables.” Professional.

“Can we discuss fee if you want content?” Even better.

Sebab creator bukan vending machine. Masuk product, keluar content.

And girls yang build audience from taste, humour, honesty, and POV deserve more than “we’ll repost you on our page.” Bestie, exposure tak bayar ring light.

So yes, enjoy the cute boxes. Ambil gambar. Smell the perfume. Let the lip gloss have its moment.

Tapi jangan confuse PR package dengan payment.

Hadiah should feel like hadiah.

Kalau ada kerja attached, jangan malu call it kerja.
