
Monday malam, snack tiba-tiba macam calling
Ada satu timing lepas pukul 8 malam where the whole house quiet sikit, makeup dah tanggal, kerja dah tutup — and suddenly kau buka pantry macam detective.
Bukan sebab kau nak masak. Bukan sebab ada plan.
Kau cuma berdiri depan rak, tengok biskut, Maggi, cereal, leftover kuih, and fikir: “Aku lapar ke aku just need something to bite?”
Bestie, valid question.
Monday night snack memang ada energy lain. Dia bukan breakfast. Bukan lunch. Bukan dinner. Dia lebih kepada emotional support kunyah lepas satu hari kau pretend okay dekat office, campus, LRT, family WhatsApp, semua tempat.
Sometimes kau lapar. Sometimes kau tired. Sometimes otak kau masih buzzing and nak crunch sound supaya rasa hidup ada texture.
Jangan terus masuk diet court case
Masalahnya, girls selalu cepat sangat judge diri.
Ambil chips sikit, terus rasa “tak disciplined”. Makan roti kaya malam, terus rasa “habis la glow-up aku”. Padahal babe, kau bukan commit crime. Kau makan snack.

Food bukan personality test. Snack bukan bukti kau gagal jadi clean girl. Sometimes badan kau memang perlukan extra energy sebab dinner awal sangat, traffic panjang, or hari tu kau jalan banyak gila. Sometimes kau cuma nak comfort, and comfort pun human need.
The issue bukan snack. The issue ialah bila snack jadi autopilot sebab kau tak check apa yang kau actually rasa.
Lapar, bosan, stress — semua lain vibe
Try pause ten seconds sebelum raid pantry. Not in a strict way. More like, “Girl, what are we doing?”
Kalau perut bunyi, kepala ringan, or dinner tadi ciput sebab meeting drag — makan proper. Cari something yang actually mengenyangkan. Roti telur, yogurt, fruit, leftovers, apa-apa yang buat badan stop hantar notification.
Kalau kau cuma bosan, maybe snack still boleh. Tapi maybe kau sebenarnya nak tukar scene, call bestie, mandi, or keluar dari loop scroll.
Kalau kau stress, snack rangup memang sedap sebab rasa macam kecil-kecil revenge. Crunch crunch, masalah diam kejap. Fair. Tapi jangan biar satu packet habis sebelum kau sedar kau sebenarnya marah dekat email tadi.
No shame. Just awareness.
Malaysian snack culture memang dangerous sedap
Kita hidup dekat negara where roti canai exists at midnight. Mamak buka. GrabFood tempting. Kedai bawah rumah ada keropok, ice cream, Milo tin, semua menjerit nama kau.
So yes, willpower alone bukan strategy. Environment pun masuk cerita.
Kalau kau tahu Monday night kau selalu penat, stock snack yang kau actually enjoy and tak buat kau rasa trash after. Bukan “healthy” sampai sedih. More like realistic: fruit sejuk, crackers, popcorn, yogurt, bread, telur rebus, or small portion chips in a bowl instead of bawa satu packet masuk katil macam main character chaotic.
Also, hydration check. Kadang kau bukan lapar, kau cuma dehydrated and dramatic.
Eat, then move on
Verdict: Monday night snack can be comfort. Tak perlu romanticise, tak perlu demonise.
Makan kalau lapar. Makan kalau nak. Just don’t let guilt become dessert.
Because the goal bukan jadi girl yang never snacks. Itu boring and probably fake.
The goal is jadi girl yang can listen to herself without panic. Yang boleh makan something nice, close the packet, gosok gigi, and tidur tanpa buat trial dalam kepala.
Kau survived Monday. Kalau badan minta snack, maybe bagi snack.
Just make sure kau yang pilih snack tu — not stress, not boredom, not TikTok diet voice wearing lip gloss.
