Brunch event nampak cute dalam story. Tapi kalau kau datang, shoot content, tag brand, smile sampai lenguh, and balik cuma dapat tote bag — bestie, itu networking ke kerja free?

Brunch event tu nampak mahal sampai kau lupa kau kerja

Sabtu pagi. Orang lain tidur balik lepas Subuh, kau dah iron blouse, touch-up concealer, cari parking dekat Bangsar, and rehearse senyum "omg hi babe" dalam kereta.

Creator brunch memang ada aura dia.

Meja cantik. Iced matcha. Mini croissant yang semua orang ambil gambar dulu sebelum makan. PR bag atas kerusi. Backdrop pastel. Brand team senyum macam semua ni chill je.

And yes, it is cute.

Tapi bestie, jangan confuse cute dengan free.

Sebab kadang-kadang brunch event ni bukan sekadar "jom makan and mingle". Dia datang sekali dengan expectation halus: post story, tag brand, ambil aesthetic flat lay, buat recap, reply DM, maybe nanti upload TikTok.

Tiba-tiba kau datang brunch, tapi output dia macam content shoot.

Networking tu real, tapi kerja pun real

Aku tak nak jadi bitter. Event boleh jadi useful gila.

Kau jumpa creator lain. Kau kenal brand team. Kau belajar siapa serious, siapa suka janji bulan bintang. Kau dapat rasa vibe industri without kena hard sell dalam email.

Networking matters.

Tapi networking tak patut jadi alasan untuk semua benda jadi free labour.

Kalau brand invite kau sebab audience kau valuable, sebab style kau sesuai, sebab content kau boleh gerakkan sales or perception, then value tu memang wujud. Bukan tiba-tiba hilang sebab venue dia ada bunga fresh atas meja.

Tote bag bukan payment.

Latte bukan invoice.

"Exposure" bukan currency, kecuali LHDN sekarang accept payment dalam aesthetic story views. Tak kot.

Girls boleh rasa bila event tu respect creator

Event yang respectful ada beza.

Dia jelas dari awal: kena post ke tidak? Ada deliverables ke? Gifted je ke? Ada fee? Kalau no fee, at least jangan buat macam creator wajib produce campaign-level content sebab dapat serum satu bottle.

Brand yang matang akan cakap elok-elok. "No posting obligation, just come experience." Or "We'd love one story if you feel like sharing." Or kalau memang nak content, they brief and pay.

Simple.

Yang penat bila semua benda dibuat vague.

"Just come and enjoy!" Tapi lepas event, team follow up: "Hi babe, when can we expect your TikTok?" Sis. Expect? Dari mana expectation ni turun? Ceiling cafe ke?

Kalau deliverable tak dibincang, jangan tiba-tiba jadi homework.

Creator pun kena stop underpricing diri sebab segan

This part kita kena cakap juga.

Ramai girls rasa bersalah nak ask. Takut nampak diva. Takut brand tak jemput lagi. Takut "baru kecil dah demand".

Tapi asking clarity bukan perangai diva. Itu basic professional.

Try ayat simple:

"Thanks for inviting! Just checking, is there any posting requirement for this event?"

Atau:

"Happy to attend. If you'd like a dedicated TikTok or Reel, I can share my rates."

That’s it. Tak payah garang. Tak payah essay.

Kalau brand terus ghost sebab kau tanya deliverables, honestly maybe bagus dia reveal awal. Saves you petrol, parking, makeup, and Saturday morning social battery.

Jangan semua benda jadi content trap

Yang tricky, creator life blur sangat antara fun and work.

Kau memang suka beauty. Kau memang suka dress up. Kau memang suka shoot content. So bila brand invite brunch, it feels like treat.

But treat yang ada invisible KPI can become trap.

Satu story okay. Dua story okay. Tapi kalau every cute event becomes unpaid campaign, lama-lama kau bukan building brand. Kau building burnout with better lighting.

And audience pun boleh bau.

Bila review terlalu excited padahal kau baru pegang product 20 minit, girls akan side-eye. Bila semua post bunyi sama, trust turun. Bila creator macam terpaksa hype, comment section senyap tapi otak semua orang fikir benda sama: hmm, paid ke ni? Gifted ke? Script ke?

Honesty is the only aesthetic that lasts.

Pergi brunch, tapi jangan tinggal self-respect dekat valet

So yes, pergi lah creator brunch kalau kau nak.

Pakai outfit cute. Ambil gambar. Network. Makan croissant tu sebelum dia keras. Make friends. Collect contacts. Enjoy being in the room.

Tapi jangan lupa: kau bukan decoration untuk brand table.

Kau datang dengan audience, taste, labour, time, and trust. Semua tu ada value.

Kalau event tu memang just community, cute. Enjoy.

Kalau dia nak content, ask scope.

Kalau dia nak performance penuh, ask fee.

And kalau dia cuma bagi tote bag tapi expect mini campaign?

Bestie, smile nicely, take the matcha, and invoice mentally for future reference.
