Ahad malam, tiba-tiba kau jadi nutritionist

Ada satu perangai yang datang every Sunday evening.

Kau tengok fridge kosong, tengok Monday esok, then terus rasa, “Okay. Minggu ni kita berubah.”

Bukan berubah besar pun. Bukan quit sugar forever. Bukan meal prep 14 bekas macam TikTok fitness girl.

Just grocery run.

Masuk supermarket pukul 8 malam dengan niat murni: beli benda sihat, jimat duit, stop order GrabFood sebab bank account dah mula bagi silent treatment.

Sepuluh minit pertama memang promising. Greek yogurt. Salad kit. Telur. Buah. Maybe oat milk sebab packaging dia aesthetic and kau nak rasa macam orang yang ada morning routine.

Then kau masuk aisle snack.

Habislah.

Basket tu bukan groceries, itu personality test

Grocery basket malam Ahad honestly boleh expose kau lebih laju daripada group chat.

Atas sekali: leafy greens, tomato, yogurt, mineral water. Wah. Adulting queen.

Bawah sekali: instant noodles, chocolate wafer, random chips, bottled coffee, and satu benda frozen yang kau beli sebab “senang kalau emergency.” Emergency apa, babe? Emergency malas masak.

Tapi real talk, kita semua macam tu.

Kita nak jadi girl yang makan balanced meal, bawa bekal, hydrate, and tak spend RM18 dekat kopi setiap hari. Tapi kita juga girl yang balik kerja penat, buka fridge, tengok sayur layu, and tiba-tiba crackers jadi dinner.

Satu tangan pegang broccoli. Satu tangan add to cart dessert kecil “untuk reward diri.”

Healthy era selalu start dekat supermarket

Yang funny pasal grocery run: masa beli barang, kita sangat confident.

Kau imagine Monday pagi potong buah, Tuesday masak simple pasta, Wednesday bawa lunch cute dalam container.

Reality? Snooze alarm, lupa thaw chicken, lunch meeting suddenly, sayur nampak depressed, then Friday order ayam gepuk sebab “minggu ni intense.”

Itu bukan fail. Itu hidup.

Kadang-kadang kita beli groceries sebab kita nak believe minggu depan boleh jadi softer, less chaotic, less expensive.

It’s hope, tapi dalam bentuk cherry tomato.

Snack haul tu bukan crime, tapi jangan tipu diri

No, buying snacks doesn’t mean kau tak serious pasal diri sendiri.

Kadang-kadang snack memang survival. Chocolate lepas class. Chips masa assignment. Iced coffee dalam fridge untuk morning yang rasa macam kena restart manually.

But kalau setiap Ahad kau konon nak jadi healthy girl, then balik dengan 80% benda manis and 20% sayur dekorasi, maybe kita kena jujur sikit.

Bukan shame.

Just audit.

Beli snack yang kau actually suka. Beli bahan masak yang kau actually akan guna. Jangan beli celery sebab TikTok girl minum green juice kalau kau tahu celery tu akan mati perlahan-lahan dalam drawer fridge.

Self-improvement yang realistic lagi hot daripada aspirational groceries yang jadi compost.

The real adulting is buying food for your actual life

Adulting bukan basket paling clean.

Adulting is tahu kau.

Kalau kau balik lambat, beli benda 10 minit siap. Kalau kau suka manis, beli dessert kecil instead of pretending kau dah immune. Kalau weekday kau chaos, frozen dumpling pun valid.

Grocery run paling bijak bukan yang aesthetic.

Yang paling bijak is yang future kau boleh survive.

Verdict: healthy era yes, delulu basket no

Grocery run malam Ahad memang ada main character energy. Playlist dalam AirPods, rasa macam kau tengah prepare untuk become better version of yourself.

Tapi jangan biar basket tu jadi cosplay hidup teratur.

Beli sayur, yes. Beli yogurt, yes. Beli snack, also yes. Cuma beli dengan jujur.

Because the goal isn’t to become perfect clean-eating girl by Monday.

The goal is to feed the girl who has class, kerja, commute, cravings, bad mood, good intentions, and only one functioning brain cell after 6pm.

Kalau grocery run kau ada broccoli and chocolate, honestly?

That sounds like balance to me.
