
TikTok jumpa satu lagi benda untuk kita overthink
Sekarang semua benda boleh jadi diagnosis dekat FYP.
Muka nampak puffy sikit? Cortisol face.
Jawline tak sharp macam filter? Cortisol face.
Bangun pagi lepas makan maggi kari pukul 12 malam? Girl, maybe itu sodium. Bukan terus villain arc hormon.
Trend “cortisol face” ni memang tengah jalan kuat — orang tunjuk before after, claim muka berubah sebab stress level turun, lifestyle improve, tidur elok, kurang inflammation, macam semua benda suddenly ada jawapan.
And okay, yes. Stress memang boleh kacau badan. Tidur tunggang-langgang, makan tak tentu, period nak datang, air kurang, kerja/university buat otak macam kena blender — semua tu boleh buat muka nampak tired, swollen, dull, whatever.
Tapi masalah dia bila TikTok ambil benda health-related and terus package jadi insecurity baru.
As if muka kau sekarang salah.
Puffy face tak semestinya life kau rosak
Real talk, muka manusia memang fluctuate.
Ada hari muka nampak snatched. Ada hari pipi macam simpan rahsia. Ada pagi mata bengkak sebab tidur 4 jam. Ada minggu muka bloated sebab PMS. Ada weekend makan salty food, minum kurang air, tidur lambat, menangis tengok drama, then Monday face keluar macam “hi, I brought receipts.”
Normal lah.
Tapi TikTok suka buat semua benda nampak macam emergency makeover.
“Do this for 7 days and your cortisol face disappears.”
Bestie, calm down. Kalau kau stress sebab kerja, toxic talking stage, assignment, duit, family pressure, and sleep schedule bersepah, masalah dia bukan solved dengan ice roller aesthetic je.
Ice roller boleh sedap. Guasha boleh rasa nice. Minum air helps. Tidur cukup memang queen behaviour. Tapi jangan sampai wellness routine jadi satu lagi kerja unpaid yang buat kau lagi stress.
Imagine stress sebab cortisol, then stress sebab tak sempat buat anti-cortisol routine. Comedy.
Bila patut ambil serius?
Kita jangan jadi anti-science pula.
Kalau perubahan muka/badan kau drastic, bengkak pelik, sakit, period kacau teruk, weight change mendadak, fatigue gila, atau ada symptom yang rasa tak normal — please check dengan doctor. Bukan comment section. Bukan random creator yang jual supplement.
Health concern valid.
Cuma jangan biar FYP diagnose kau through insecurity marketing.
Especially bila ramai content creator guna formula sama: takutkan dulu, jual solution lepas tu. Detox drink. Supplement. Face tool. “Hormone balancing” thing yang packaging dia cantik tapi evidence dia entah mana.
Malaysian girls dah cukup penat kena jual glow-up tiap minggu. Sekarang muka puffy pun nak kena audit macam quarterly report?
No thanks.
Wellness yang real tak selalu aesthetic
Sometimes “lower stress” bukan cute routine atas vanity.
Sometimes it is tidur awal walaupun nak scroll lagi.
Makan proper meal, bukan iced coffee sampai 4pm.
Mute orang yang buat nervous system kau macam alarm kereta.
Stop timbang value diri based on front camera pukul 7 pagi.
Pakai sunscreen, basuh muka, drink water, jalan sikit, cry if needed, then sambung hidup.
Not glamorous. But effective.
And if your face still puffy sometimes? Okay. You’re human, not ceramic filter.
Cortisol face as a reminder to care for yourself? Fine.
Cortisol face as another reason to bully your reflection? Absolutely not.
Your face is allowed to have weather. Jangan semua cloud terus panggil storm warning.
